Rónán O'Snodagh & Myles O'Reilly - Dalkey - April 20
Dalkey Comedy Club is now bringing the great music makers to town. Rónán Ó Snodaigh from KILA is oft described as Ireland's best Bódhran player and he is teaming up with Myles O'Reilly for a night of music in the Queens on April 20th. Grab your ticket while you can!
In a spur of the moment decision during a Pandemic lockdown, Rónán Ó Snodaigh, frontman from the Irish folk band Kíla and filmmaker/musician Myles O’Reilly, filled a car with instruments and decamped to a cottage in the remote east of Ireland. In the ethereal sound grown to characterise Myles minimal ambient projects, Rónán found a nest to lay some new lyrics and musical ideas. Two weeks later their critically acclaimed album 'Ta Go Maith' was born.
Remembering to be grateful. “It’s not finding gratitude that matters most;
it’s remembering to look in the first place. Sometimes life lands a really
mean punch in the gut and it feels like there’s nothing to be grateful for.
Guess what? It doesn’t matter. You don’t have to find anything. It’s
the searching that counts”. Rónán Ó Snodaigh recounts a valuable lesson
learned in pandemic lockdown. “Gratefulness doesn’t just make you happy
— it creates a positive feedback loop in your relationships. So express
that gratitude to the people you care about.” It was in the soil of this
powerful sentiment that ‘Tá Go Maith’, a collection of new solo works,
began to propagate.
This will be a beautiful experience so round up the troops...
